Description
Mahasattva is maintained at Bethel Grove as a specialty caprifig for breeding and genetic work. Caprifigs are male figs rather than conventional fruiting cultivars, and their role in a collection is primarily reproductive. Mahasattva is intended for experienced growers interested in controlled crosses, pollen collection and the development of new fig varieties. Because caprifig performance can vary by crop and climate, Bethel Grove recommends treating this as breeding material rather than as a conventional edible-fruit tree. It is part of our long-term effort to build a diverse foundation for original fig breeding in the Carolinas. This listing is for one labeled fig cutting intended for propagation. Cutting size, diameter and node count will vary naturally by season and available mother wood. Rooting success is not guaranteed because propagation results depend on temperature, moisture, medium and grower technique.
