About Bethel Grove Gardens

Fascinated by figs.
Rooted in the Carolinas.

We grow, collect, breed, and sell remarkable edible plants, beginning with one of humanity’s oldest cultivated fruits: the fig.

From rare heirloom figs and experimental seedlings to native Carolina edibles, berries, living groundcovers, and plants that help gardens thrive, Bethel Grove Gardens is building an edible landscape full of possibilities.

A collection with room to grow

Our work starts with a growing fig collection and an interest in genetics, unusual edibles, and the possibilities of new seedlings. The nursery connects that collection with other growers, while our Fig Explorer brings variety information together in one place.

A bigger vision for the gardens

We envision an edible botanical garden where visitors can discover extraordinary fruit, see new varieties being developed, and experience landscapes designed around plants that are both beautiful and useful.

That is a long-term vision. Fig orchards, berry gardens, seasonal tastings, and places to gather are part of what we hope to build as Bethel Grove grows.
