Description
TFH C188 is an edible caprifig selection maintained at Bethel Grove as part of our breeding collection. Caprifigs are male figs and are fundamentally different from ordinary female fruiting cultivars. Their greatest value is in breeding, pollen production and genetic diversity. This selection is described as edible, but it should be purchased primarily by growers who understand caprifig biology and want unusual male material for controlled breeding work. In regions without the fig wasp, caprifig pollen can still be collected and used for hand pollination when viable pollen is present. This listing is for one labeled fig cutting intended for propagation. Cutting size, diameter and node count will vary naturally by season and available mother wood. Rooting success is not guaranteed because propagation results depend on temperature, moisture, medium and grower technique.
