Description

Constantine de Algerie is an uncommon North African fig originating from Algeria. It is a vigorous common-type fig known for large fruit, golden-yellow skin and amber-colored pulp. The flavor is typically described as sweet, juicy and honey-like, making it an excellent contrast to the berry-heavy cultivars common in collector orchards. Its unusual geographic provenance and large-fruited honey profile make it particularly valuable in a diverse collection. Bethel Grove is growing Constantine de Algerie both as a premium eating fig and as an example of the wide genetic and flavor diversity found within Ficus carica. This listing is for one labeled fig cutting intended for propagation. Cutting size, diameter and node count will vary naturally by season and available mother wood. Rooting success is not guaranteed because propagation results depend on temperature, moisture, medium and grower technique.
